Free Books! Why Didn’t I Think of This Before?

Finally got out of the house today. I’ve been shut in the past few days, thanks to the holiday and the very beautiful ice storm (this picture of my ice laden yard was taken this morning). Besides finally getting to the bank to deposit my rolled coins, my main objective was to hit up the local library.

I haven’t had a library card since I was about 10 or so. I don’t really know why - I lived within walking distance of the library for several years, and I always like to credit myself with having enough sense to know that free books = awesome! However, I just never really got around to going there after the fourth grade.

So today I sucked it up, walked in, got a new library card, and checked out some books. Hurray, free books! I knew if I picked up too many, I wouldn’t read them all, so I limited myself to one personal finance book (The Money Book for the Young, Fabulous & Broke by Suze Orman) and one fiction (Monstrous Regiment by Terry Pratchett). I’ve never read anything by either author, so I’ll have to let you know what I think!

Also, remind me to stop adding movies to my mother’s Netflix queue, and to start checking the library. Free movies on top of free books! Inconceivable!
