Thanks guys! I'm gonna work on the color in the comment box - I'm still not very good at editing things around here, so it might take a few days.

When I had to delay my graduation by one semester, all I had to do was to call the company and tell them I have more school. They are happy to defer my payments by 6 months. They make more interest that way anyways.

Side note, can you change the color in the comment box? It's hard to see what I am typing.

I think once you register and "confirm" admission (which is a downpayment on your term bill, if not the entire payment). But call financial aid.

I'm still unclear - do they defer when you start classes, or once you're registered? Because there's a big difference between April and September! (Also, all of my loans are federal, so I don't have to worry about notifying any private companies, thankfully!)

When I was thinking about taking a leave I went to the Financial Aid office, and they said that I would have to make payments until I returned to school, at which time the Federal loans would automatically defer. As far as my private loan (from Key) I would have to send them documentation as to when I was returning to school, and they would go ahead and defer payments then.
