Only lines of credit are. If you have student loans, you've got somewhat of a credit history, which is a start. Car loans and mortgages are other (more expensive) ways to establish a credit history. Investing, saving up for (and making) big purchases, handling kids and finances (when that time comes). It also starts to go from advice for everyone, to targeting specific groups. People who freelance are going to need very different "beyond the basics" advice than people who have a salary.
