I had the best grades when I had the least free time. Another way to cut costs if you have really good grades is to apply to be a teaching assistant. A friend of mine was a TA as an undergrad and got full tuition plus a stipend. That comes out to be around $20,000 for 9 months of part time work. College is definitely expensive nowadays, but as you have explained, there are means out there to cutting down the costs. Don't forget about internships either, as those can pay up to $10,000+ over the course of one summer (if you find a good one)! Great post!
