When I was a student I'd much rather have spent the £30 to £50 per textbook on enjoying myself. If I'd just have been given the money instead though it would have been gone in days. Gift card is still not as personal, but Amazon giftcard would work out better. The overall idea is great. Students could never run out of the need for textbooks.
